“We Shall Meet In The Place Where There Is No Darkness” is a series of drawings in response to George Orwell’s 1984 book. Inspired by the main character’s meanderings, Catarino provides an open landscape which encourages the viewer to explore an environment that is not first sight inviting. The literary, cinematic, and architectural are some of the of themes that comprise these detailed landscapes, which on a second, deeper look reveal new narratives.
